Ipswich West Special School is a specialist school currently providing educational programs for students from Prep to Year 12 with diverse learning needs.

As part of its future-focused direction, the school is transitioning to become a dedicated secondary special school, strengthening its focus on supporting students through their adolescent years and preparing them for successful post-school pathways.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of QCIA/QCAA requirements, Australian Curriculum v9.0, contemporary pedagogies, differentiated teaching strategies, senior schooling pathways, transition planning, post-school options, work experience programs and PATH planning.
  • Experience working in a special school setting would be highly desirable, but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead behaviour support initiatives and contribute to the school's priority focus on improving reading outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders to drive positive change and improve student outcomes.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and meet established timelines.
