About the Role
The position of Children's Health Queensland Retrieval Service (CHQRS) Fellow provides educational and safety and quality support as a key member of the CHQRS leadership team.
The role also provides direct and indirect medical care of paediatric intensive care and high dependency patients under the supervision of Consultant Senior Medical Officers appointed to CHQRS and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
As an integral member of the CHQRS team you will:
- Assist the CHQRS Director and Nurse Manager in managing service change and planning and working collaboratively with other partners such as Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ).
- Assist in further developing the Paediatric Medical Coordination service, providing clinical coordination for the transportation of children in Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
- Support the ongoing development of patient safety and quality assurance processes, team education and supervision, and feedback with external stakeholders.
- Undertake paediatric critical care and high dependency retrievals for patients aged from birth to 16 years old from referring centres throughout Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
