About your opportunity

The Townsville University Hospital (TUH) Central Sterilising Department (CSD) is responsible for the decontamination and sterilisation of Reusable Medical Devices utilised in Operating Theatres, Oral Health Services, various wards and hospital departments, as well as for external clients.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $37.92 to $40.25 p.h. (Nurse Grade 3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Flexible working arrangements might be available in this role

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Mandatory for Central Sterilising Department: Successful completion of Certificate III in Sterilisation Services from an approved training organisation based on nationally accredited competencies or equivalent. If qualification has not been completed, the successful applicant will have 12 months to complete the qualification as a condition of their employment.
  • Qualification: Diploma of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster /li>
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
