Southern Parks & Forests Regional Operations; Management & Operations; Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships; Gatton and Toowoomba

Rangers protect and manage Queensland’s national parks, state forests and reserves, ensuring they are accessible and valued. Working with communities and stakeholders, they deliver land management, recreation and conservation outcomes in line with legislation. Rangers undertake a wide range of operational tasks suitable for non-trades persons.

Southern Downs (Toowoomba): Oversees 18,257 ha of protected areas and 238,234 ha of state forests. The role supports the Ranger in Charge, coordinates on-ground works and helps lead a Toowoomba-based team.

Lockyer (Gatton): Manages ~50,000 ha including Glen Rock and Main Range National Park. The role supports daily operations and team leadership.

Across both locations, the focus is on coordinating day-to-day management and strategic projects.
