About the role
This is a unique opportunity for a General Paediatrician to contribute to the delivery and future direction of paediatric services across North West Queensland.
Based in Mount Isa, you will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care across general paediatrics, community health and Level 4 neonatology.
The role offers a diverse and challenging clinical caseload, with opportunities to engage in outreach, telehealth, teaching and service development while making a genuine difference to a regional and remote population.

Competitive remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value up to $663,108.20 p.a. comprising:

- Base salary ranges between $216,643 and $274,678 p.a. (L18 - L27).
- Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
- 5 weeks annual recreational leave accumulation with 17.5% loading when taken.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance of 50% base annual salary.
- Regional and rural attraction allowance of 15% base annual salary.
- Motor vehicle allowance.
- Professional development allowance and leave of 3.6 weeks p.a.
- Inaccessibility allowance.
- Accommodation (Provided as per NWHHS Procedure for Staff Accommodation).
Requirements
- The position requires the incumbent to fulfil clinical on-call requirements in General Medicine practice and undertake on-call in line with their approved scope of clinical practice.
- Credentialing and Scope of Clinical Practice: The position requires the incumbent required to undergo the credentialing and scope of clinical practice process in accordance with NWHHS policy.
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
