Your new role:
As the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Lung Nodule Program, you will provide expert clinical leadership and coordination for patients with screen-detected and incidentally identified lung nodules. Working closely with respiratory specialists, multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, you will support patients across the care continuum while helping to implement and grow a nationally significant screening and early detection service.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate the Lung Nodule Multidisciplinary Case Conference (MDCC) and support multidisciplinary decision-making.
- Provide expert patient care through telehealth, telephone and face-to-face consultations.
- Deliver patient education and smoking cessation support.
- Coordinate weekly Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team Meetings and associated follow-up activities.
- Develop and maintain streamlined clinical pathways aligned with national guidelines and key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with Respiratory Medicine, Oncology, Radiology, Thoracic Surgery and Allied Health teams to ensure seamless patient care.
About you:
You are an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant who thrives in complex clinical environments and is passionate about improving outcomes for patients with respiratory disease and lung cancer. You bring strong clinical expertise, exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead service improvement initiatives while delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Advanced clinical knowledge and expertise in respiratory nursing practice.
- Experience coordinating care for patients with complex respiratory or oncology-related conditions.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and facilitate collaborative care.
- Experience leading quality improvement, clinical governance or service development initiatives.
