Your new role

As the Chief Finance and Sustainability Officer, you will be a key member of Metro South Health's Executive Leadership Team, providing strategic leadership to ensure the organisation's long-term financial and environmental sustainability while enabling the delivery of exceptional healthcare services to the community. Within this Executive positon you will:

  • Lead the organisation's financial strategy, governance and performance, providing expert advice to the Health Service Chief Executive, Board and Executive Leadership Team to support informed decision-making and achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Drive financial sustainability through oversight of funding negotiations, budget development, resource allocation, forecasting, revenue optimisation and financial risk management across one of Queensland's largest and most complex health services.
  • Champion Metro South Health's sustainability agenda by leading the development and implementation of environmental sustainability strategies that maximise resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact and support long-term organisational resilience.
  • Provide executive leadership across key corporate portfolios, including finance, health information management, assets and infrastructure, while fostering a high-performing culture focused on innovation, accountability, continuous improvement and service excellence.

About you

You are a strategic and values-driven Executive leader with a proven track record of delivering financial sustainability, organisational performance and transformational outcomes within large, complex environments. You bring exceptional commercial and financial acumen, coupled with the ability to influence, collaborate and lead at the highest levels. You will bring:

  • Extensive executive leadership experience in financial management, accounting and governance, with a strong understanding of contemporary funding, purchasing and performance frameworks within complex service delivery organisations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving organisational transformation, financial sustainability and performance improvement through innovative thinking, sound judgement and strategic decision-making.
  • Highly developed analytical, commercial and risk management capabilities, with the ability to navigate complexity, identify opportunities and implement practical solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across executive leadership teams, governing boards, government agencies and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • A collaborative and adaptable style of leadership and you excel in partnering with clinical and corporate teams, balancing competing priorities and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
