The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) is looking for a versatile, multi-skilled and motivated person who is keen to develop or broaden their experience in the operational aspects of supporting and delivering electoral events.

The successful candidate will work in a small team of Agile Product Owners and Business Analysts to play a key role within our Digital Technologies unit in shaping and creating the ECQ of the future; they will ensure critical election systems (CES) remain fit for purpose and aligned with business needs and assist with the preparation and conduct of projects for delivering electoral events.

This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity where you will be a key contributor for the Digital Technologies team within ECQ. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously and provide strategic advice when required.

As the Business Analyst, you will be responsible for the following key deliverables:
• Provide CES users support as required to support election delivery, business as usual functions and business improvement initiatives.
• Manage the CES Business Improvement (BI) Register to deliver prioritised improvements according to allocated budgets. 
• Co-ordinate the BI program with ECQ stakeholders and CES Suppliers to ensure initiatives are delivered efficiently and effectively against agreed priorities and processes. 
• Administer and lead CES Change Requests/Concepts and forward to the Election Systems Quality Board (or relevant board) for approval and be Change Manager for approved changes.  
• Support election delivery as required by election event project plans and manage select election or business improvement projects.  
• Facilitate the identification of gaps and overlaps in CES functionality and/or potential impacts of proposed changes, that may detract from the CES being fit for purpose or aligned with strategic objectives.  
• Create and maintain relationships with ECQ staff, general service providers and external clients. Through direct partnerships with these stakeholders, support the ECQ by providing high quality change management and service delivery.
• Use your technical skills and acquired system and business knowledge to provide application support to CES users. 
• Analyse and interpret business requirements for CES to understand the needs and objectives of the business users and development of user stories as input into software development processes.
