We are seeking a motivated Senior Field Officer to join our regional team and help shape Queensland’s VET system.
You will work with businesses, industry groups, training providers and community organisations to address workforce needs, support young people, apprentices, trainees and jobseekers, and contribute to Queensland’s economic growth.
In this role, you will lead and support a team of regional Field Officers who work directly with apprentices, trainees and employers to deliver programs and initiatives.
Together, you will empower communities, improve access to quality training and connect people to priority industries.

As a Senior Field Officer, you will play a key role in shaping Queensland's vocational education and training (VET) system by working with businesses, training providers, industry groups and community organisations to implement regional programs and initiatives.

The successful applicant may be substantively based at any of the DTET Metropolitan regional office locations, including Nundah, Ipswich, or Mount Gravatt.

About the role:
As the Senior Field Officer, you will:
• Provide leadership, support and advice to industry partners, client groups and stakeholders on the regional programs and services administered by the department.
• Work collaboratively or independently to manage staff, contribute to team outcomes and respond flexibly to operational needs.
• Drive the development, implementation and evaluation of regional activities, including operational planning, system improvements, governance processes, data integrity and information management.
• Co-design and deliver regional strategies that strengthen regulatory functions, address workforce challenges, enhance VET pathways, support small businesses and improve employment outcomes across Queensland.

What we are looking for:
The position requires an applicant who has:
• The ability to deliver high quality well researched advice and interpretation on a wide range of VET system issues, including apprenticeships, traineeships, stakeholder capability building and workforce development initiatives.
• Strong capability in investigating issues and complaints, gathering and analysing data and preparing accurate compliant reports and documentation aligned with legislation, directives and departmental policies.
• Proven leadership skills including mentoring, coaching and supporting staff to build capability and achieve performance expectations.
