As a Ranger specialising in heavy plant operations, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving access across Queensland's protected areas through road construction and maintenance activities. You'll operate and maintain machinery such as graders and dozers, contributing to civil works and infrastructure projects that support park management and visitor access.
The role involves a mix of hands-on fieldwork, project support and some supervision, along with administrative tasks to track work and resources. You'll also contribute to broader ranger responsibilities, including natural resource management, emergency response and working with stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
Regular travel to remote areas, including Cape York, is a key part of the role, offering variety and the chance to work in unique and challenging environments.
This position suits someone practical, adaptable and safety-focused, who enjoys working both independently and as part of a small team, and is motivated by meaningful, on-the-ground results.
