Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best!

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.

Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.

About the Role

The Principal Rail Possessions & Planning Advisor will work within the Customer and Network team and be responsible for coordinating the planning and sequencing of Cross River Rail project works through extended track closures.

You will work across multiple agencies and stakeholders to facilitate planning activities, progress closure proposals through governance processes and ensure alignment with project milestones, while managing risk, issues and competing priorities within a complex program environment.

This opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until September 2028 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coordinate multi-agency planning of extended track closures in line with program and governance frameworks
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across Cross River Rail, Queensland Rail, TMR and contractors to assess and progress closure proposals
  • Apply governance frameworks to support timely, transparent and robust decision-making
  • Develop and manage planning documentation including applications, risk assessments, reporting and approvals
  • Analyse technical and planning information to ensure coordinated and feasible work sequencing
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and changes associated with delivery activities

About You:

  • Experience managing competing priorities in complex program delivery environments
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret technical information and present clear outcomes
  • Demonstrated understanding of governance frameworks and structured decision-making processes
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse groups
  • Ability to work autonomously while driving outcomes and continuous improvement
  • Rail or infrastructure experience is desirable but not essential
