About us:
Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service is proud to care for communities across the region, delivering healthcare through hospitals, clinics, and community-based services. From bustling regional centres and beautiful coastal towns to remote outback communities, we support a population of around 250,000 people. Our team of more than 3,700 dedicated staff provides care to over 700,000 patients each year, ensuring accessible, high-quality healthcare wherever it is needed.
At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to person-centred care - putting people first, listening to what matters most, and delivering safe, high-quality healthcare with compassion, respect, and excellence. Together, we work to create healthier communities and better healthcare experiences for everyone who calls Central Queensland home.
About the role:
- Provide advanced clinical leadership to help shape and strengthen antenatal care, ensuring pregnant women and their families receive timely, evidence-based, and person-centred support when it matters most.
- Working alongside clinicians, health services, government agencies, and community partners, you will contribute to statewide initiatives that improve early access to care, enhance preventive health practices, and create stronger pathways for women who may need additional support during pregnancy.
- Play a key role in building workforce capability and sustainable systems that identify and respond to health risks early, helping to improve outcomes for mothers, babies, and families across Queensland.
- Make a lasting impact beyond individual patient care, influencing service development, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and helping to create healthier futures for the next generation.
About you:
- The successful applicant must hold current registration as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possess a Bachelor or Diploma of Midwifery, enabling you to provide advanced, evidence-based care within a contemporary maternity setting.
- Whilst not mandatory, endorsement for scheduled medicines with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), along with a postgraduate qualification or current enrolment in a relevant postgraduate program that supports advanced midwifery practice is highly desirable.
- You have advanced midwifery expertise and can work both autonomously and collaboratively, contributing to clinical pathways, referral processes, and models of care that deliver positive outcomes for women and families.
- You bring strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in quality improvement, risk management, data analysis, and patient safety initiatives.
