About the role
Permanent full-time opportunity to lead the delivery of advanced, high-impact Occupational Therapy care for clients receiving HITH, GEMITH and other Home Hospital programs, supporting people with complex needs to remain safely at home while providing expert clinical leadership across the service.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver advanced occupational therapy clinical services of a complex and varied nature, across a variety of medical conditions, chronic disease and aging population in a home visiting model, where principles, procedures, techniques or methods require constant adaptation to address clinical requirements, working across speciality areas within the Home Hospital Service.
- Apply evidence-based practice to enable complex clinical decision making in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
- Provide clinical leadership within the service stream across the spectrum of occupational therapy interventions including advanced equipment prescription, oedema assessment and management, risk management, comprehensive cognitive assessment and functional cognition retraining, complex IADL retraining, Aged Care and NDIS advocacy, home assessment, palliative care and other relevant interventions to facilitate complex care for patients with high acuity.
