This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and innovative leader to join the executive team at Queensland Education and Training Centre (QETC) as the Senior Project Officer (SPO), entrusted with the responsibility of leading QETC’s Partnership & Student Wellbeing/Personal Development Program. About Queensland Education and Training Centre
Queensland Education and Training Centre is a Department of Education school operating within Brisbane's Youth Detention Centres at Wacol. QETC is a multi-campus school that caters to both male and female students from across the state who are either on remand or have been sentenced for criminal offences. The school plays an important role in the community by providing young people in detention with the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills, and values that can enhance their capacity to pursue positive choices in the future.
Your role
The Senior Project Officer is responsible for overseeing the organisational matters of QETC's Partnerships and Student Wellbeing/Personal Development programs, with a strong focus on developing an effective network of high-quality partners, programs and facilitators who provide learning opportunities for students that align to the school's Student Wellbeing and Personal Development Program framework. The SPO will enhance the program in line with BYETC's strategic objectives. The position has a key role in the continuous improvement of BYETC's performance and contributing to the achievement of the organisation's vision and purpose.
The SPO is responsible for overseeing the strategic development and operational management of the Partnerships & Student Wellbeing/Personal Development Program with a strong focus on providing tailored programs designed to build students' personal and social capabilities linked to the desistance model, through productive community partnerships and access to community-based support after their release. The SPO will play an overall integral role in championing close partnerships with key inter-agency stakeholders and community organisations to continue strengthening program practices at the centre.
The position will oversee the operational synergies from coordinating educational timetabling and workforce scheduling. The SPO reports to the Manger - Transitions and Partnerships and is entrusted with the overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the Partnerships and Student Wellbeing/Personal development program and associated team.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of strategic development and implementation of the Partnerships & Student Wellbeing/Personal Development Program at across QETC campuses.
- Undertake complex project management and provide expert and strategic advice to the Executive Leadership team.
- Oversee the design and development of key tools for data collation and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain positive, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with key external partners who support at risk youth and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain positive, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with key internal partners who provide support to our students.
- Work collaboratively with key campus stakeholders, Department of Education and Youth Justice, where required to solve complex organisational problems to ensure effective scheduling and maximise student participation.
- Review, refine and provide feedback where necessary to partners, facilitators, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the alignment of programs to QETC's desistance model framework, Student Learning and Wellbeing Framework, Teaching and Learning Philosophy, Respectful Relationships Education Program, and the Australian Curriculum Personal and Social Capability continuum.
- Lead and implement program reporting, including analysis of program performance, progress towards KPIs, and annual review processes.
- Oversight of the team responsible for the daily coordination of program partners and facilitators, program delivery, program staff, and program timetable.
