Your new role:
As the Clinical Nurse – FirstNet Funding Optimisation, you will play a critical role in supporting both clinical excellence and operational performance within Logan Hospital's Emergency Department. Working collaboratively with nursing, medical and multidisciplinary teams, you will utilise your advanced emergency nursing expertise to review patient presentations, optimise FirstNet and ieMR documentation, and support Activity Based Funding outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on patient-centred care.
- Lead clinical review processes to support accurate and timely emergency department documentation.
- Identify opportunities to optimise FirstNet and ieMR data quality, supporting Activity Based Funding outcomes.
- Apply advanced clinical reasoning and emergency nursing knowledge to ensure care delivery is accurately reflected in patient records.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, data analysis, and service enhancement projects.
About you:
You are an experienced Emergency Department nurse who combines strong clinical expertise with a passion for quality improvement, data integrity, and service excellence. You enjoy analysing complex information, identifying opportunities for improvement, and influencing positive change while maintaining a patient-centred approach.
- Significant Emergency Department nursing experience, with advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of emergency clinical documentation, patient flow, and treatment pathways.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in FirstNet, ieMR, clinical coding, data quality, and Activity Based Funding principles.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
