About the opportunity   

The Administration Officer plays a crucial role in providing administrative support within a fast-paced hospital environment.  As a vital member of the administrative team, you will collaborate with stakeholders to manage and coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations in Demand Response Unit (DRU) and the wider Clinical Information Administration Service.  A high level of professionalism and empathy must be maintained while adhering to strict confidentiality guidelines.

This role encompasses working weekdays, weekends and public holidays as we ensure round-the-clock support to meet patient needs. 

This is a Temporary part-time role up to 3 months, working 55.5 hours per fortnight.  There is a possibility of an extension - not exceeding 12 months.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated experience and high-level skills using the Microsoft Office 365 suite and corporate/patient information systems and databases.
  • Integrity: Demonstrates sound decision making, proven ability to work effectively as an individual with limited supervision and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and ensures work output and decisions are ethical and of a high standard.
  • Compassion: Demonstrates patient/client focus, patience, understanding, confidentiality and can navigate through ambiguity, including the ability to deescalate difficult situations.
  • Accountability: Demonstrated ability at engaging in coordinating tasks and workflow, is action oriented, takes ownership, drives results and delivers exceptional person-centred care to patients, families and the community.
  • Respect: Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills with the proven ability to manage conflict, communicates appropriately and proficiently, and actively participates in a working environment supporting equity and diversity.
  • Engagement: Proven ability to collaborate within a team to cultivate a strong unity, build effective relationships with diverse personalities and adapts to meet the needs of a changing work environment.

Role requirements

  • This is a VPD risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.

  • Salary range: $39.98 - $44.46  p.h. (AO3)
