The Special Education Program at Trinity Bay State High School provides inclusive, student-centred support for students with diverse learning needs, including students with visual impairment, hearing impairment, speech or language impairments, and other disabilities.

Through personalised learning, targeted support strategies, and strong partnerships with families, the program focuses on enhancing student engagement, wellbeing, independence, and educational outcomes.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

  • Support students to achieve their potential using evidence-based contemporary occupational therapy knowledge and frameworks to assist schools to identify and make reasonable adjustments and use inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate and liaise with school leaders, teachers, other service providers, and the supervising occupational therapist to assess barriers to student learning and develop and implement occupational therapy services across schools.
  • Participate as an active member in education teams within schools to ensure the delivery of high quality, evidence-based contemporary occupational therapy services to enhance learning outcomes for students with disability.
  • Use professional knowledge and skills to deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, professional standards and guidelines.
