Your new role:

As the Data Administration Officer, you will provide high-level support for the management and operation of the Queensland Melanoma Databank while contributing to the broader Queensland Melanoma Institute Development Project. Working within a collaborative healthcare and research environment, you will ensure the integrity, quality and security of valuable clinical data and provide administrative support that helps advance melanoma research and patient care.

In this role, you will:

  • Accurately collect and enter clinical and research data from a variety of sources.
  • Coordinate quality assurance activities, including data validation and database audits.
  • Prepare reports and datasets to support governance and research activities.
  • Provide training and advice to clinical and administrative staff on data collection processes and database functionality.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with privacy, confidentiality and data protection requirements.

About you:

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with complex information and contributing to meaningful healthcare and research initiatives. You possess strong communication skills and can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

You will bring:

  • Experience working within a healthcare environment and the ability to interpret patient records, clinical summaries and pathology or radiology reports.
  • Experience using Queensland Health systems, including ieMR and REDCap.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, confidentiality requirements and ethical principles relating to human research.
  • Advanced computer literacy and strong database management skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

About us:

The Queensland Melanoma Institute Development Project aims to develop and establish the Queensland Melanoma Institute, a collaborative initiative dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with melanoma and advanced skin cancer. Based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the institute will bring together researchers from Brisbane's universities and research institutes and clinicians across public and private practice, with a strong focus on embedding research into clinical care.
