About your opportunity

As an Administrative Officer Medical Records – Receptionist, you will be the face of the Health Service, managing general enquiries, updating confidential information into medical records, answering the phone and directing calls, patient travel. This role will provide effective and efficient, confidential administrative support. The incumbent will help in making a difference to the health outcomes of people on Palm Island by supporting health workers, doctors and nurses at Joyce Palmer Health Service. Joyce Palmer Health Service will provide you with the required training to assist you in this role, so that you will be familiar with all administration systems and help in general training to support career progression.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $40.22 to $46.91 p.h. (AO2)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • The appointee must be able to source own accommodation on Palm Island.
  • The Administration staff usually provides service from 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Sunday. The successful candidate is required to participate in the roster covering these hours. During Public Health Concerns may be required to work evenings and nights on a rotating basis.
  • Highly regarded: Knowledge of IT systems.
  • Highly regarded: Skills in office equipment used by the role.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
