Do you have strong administrative skills, exceptional attention to detail, and an interest in parliamentary processes? Are you looking for a fast-paced role supporting the work of Parliamentary Committees?

Queensland Parliament is seeking a highly organised and proactive Committee Support Officer to provide administrative support to committee secretariats. In this role, you'll contribute to the effective operation of parliamentary committees by coordinating meetings, managing documentation, and supporting inquiry processes.

This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment at the heart of Queensland's democratic system, where your work supports important parliamentary functions and outcomes.

Key Objectives

  • Provide high-quality administrative support to committee secretariats.
  • Ensure accurate and timely coordination of committee documentation and workflows.
  • Support the effective delivery of committee meetings, hearings and inquiries.

Your Role

  • Provide administrative support to the Committee Secretary and secretariat.
  • Maintain electronic and paper records, including tracking correspondence and processing submissions.
  • Prepare, format and distribute committee materials.
  • Draft routine correspondence and maintain statistical data.
  • Format and arrange printing of reports and publications to a professional standard.
  • Publish committee information and documents online.
  • Undertake minor research using Hansard and other sources.
  • Coordinate meetings, hearings and travel, including logistics and catering.
  • Manage enquiries and liaise with Members, staff and the public.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in administrative support or a similar role.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and complex document formatting.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team under pressure.
  • Knowledge of parliamentary committees or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
