The Engineer (Civil) plays a key role in assessing third-party road infrastructure projects within state-controlled road corridors. The Engineer (Civil) plays a key role in shaping Queensland's state-controlled road networks by managing and assessing third-party road infrastructure projects and activities. This critical position ensures compliance with legislative requirements, safeguarding existing infrastructure and enabling sustainable development.

Working under the guidance of senior engineering staff, the Engineer (Civil) provides technical expertise in planning, design reviews, and monitoring development activities. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on Queensland's transport network by balancing innovation with compliance to deliver safe, resilient road infrastructure for the community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage third-party applications for works in state-controlled road corridors, ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and legislation.
• Provide advice, review designs, and complete assessments efficiently, applying conditions to protect road infrastructure and align with TMR standards.
• Audit third-party works to ensure compliance with permits and legislative requirements.
• Liaise with stakeholders to achieve coordinated development outcomes and address complaints and requests related to corridor development.
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and recommendations.
• Assist with planning, risk assessment, and quality assurance processes.

This role suits a motivated civil engineering professional with expertise in legislative frameworks and infrastructure development. You combine technical knowledge with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to assess proposals, manage risks, and ensure compliance with standards and policies. You excel at prioritising tasks, resolving technical issues, and safeguarding public infrastructure while supporting environmental sustainability. Proficiency in TMR design standards, road safety, asset protection, road design, drainage, traffic engineering, construction methods, and compliance frameworks is essential.

Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions:
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia.
• A current Class ‘C' Driver Licence.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.
• A criminal history check and serious disciplinary action declaration will be undertaken prior to appointment.
