In this exciting opportunity, you will lead a high-performing Finance and Project Controls team, ensuring the systems, processes and insights are in place to support effective project delivery. Working closely with Project Managers and the Principal Advisor (Program Performance), you will contribute across the full project lifecycle, delivering strong governance, oversight and consistency.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and high-performing leader who will:
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, guidance and capability uplift in project controls
• Embed and maintain best-practice controls to ensure consistency, quality and compliance across the district
• Oversee project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and variance analysis
• Ensure projects and contracts are appropriately approved and managed, including changes to scope, time and budget
• Deliver clear and timely program reporting to support decision-making across QTRIP projects
• Provide advice and support in project scheduling, governance and performance monitoring
Experience in a similar role would be highly regarded, along with knowledge of SAP, 3PCM or similar systems, or the demonstrated ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
The role requires experience in financial support functions, including an understanding of relevant policies, procedures and systems, and the ability to lead and develop team capability.
You will bring strong analytical and communication skills to interpret data, identify issues and engage effectively with stakeholders. You will also demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities and contribute positively to team outcomes. Knowledge of project scheduling and demonstrated financial management capability, including providing analysis, advice and support, will be important to success in this role.
Mandatory requirements:
• A pre-employment criminal history check is required due to access to sensitive information

• The successful applicant will be required to undergo a serious discipline history check
