About us:
The Community Child, Youth and Family Health Service is a specialised community-based service focused on promoting the health, wellbeing and development of children, young people and families. The service delivers evidence-based care through child health clinics, developmental surveillance, parenting support, school and community partnerships, health education and early intervention programs. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies, the unit supports families from pregnancy through childhood and adolescence, with a strong focus on prevention, early identification of concerns and improving long-term health and developmental outcomes for children and young people across the region.
About your role:
- Deliver comprehensive child and family health nursing services within community, clinic, home visiting and outreach settings under appropriate supervision.
- Participate and develop skills in developmental screening, growth assessment and health surveillance for infants and children.
- Asist in the provision of breastfeeding, infant feeding, sleep and parenting support using evidence-based practice.
- Work under supervision to be able to Identify and respond to child health concerns, developmental delay, psychosocial risk and child protection issues.
- Support the delivery of immunisation services in accordance with the National Immunisation Program following CHHHS credentialing
