Your Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging learning experiences by preparing resources and materials, assisting with classroom activities, literacy and numeracy programs, science, cooking and practical lessons, and working with individual students and small groups.
  • Provide direct support to students across a range of educational, recreational and wellbeing activities, including reading support, storytelling, excursions, sporting events, playground supervision, and assisting students to access learning resources and technology.
  • Assist students with diverse and additional needs through respectful, inclusive and compassionate support, including personal care, mobility assistance, positioning, meals, dressing and toileting where required, following appropriate training and procedures.
  • Contribute to student wellbeing, health and safety by monitoring student progress, maintaining records, delivering first aid (where qualified), supporting positive student engagement, and upholding confidentiality and professional standards when working with students and families.
  • Undertake a variety of administrative and organisational tasks including maintaining class rolls, preparing and duplicating teaching materials, recording student results, coordinating documentation, collecting activity payments, and supporting the organisation of school programs and off-site activities.
  • Assist with the management, maintenance and stocktaking of school resources and equipment, including preparing and storing teaching materials, caring for equipment and facilities, laundering linens, and working collaboratively with staff as an effective member of the school team.
