About your Vacancy:
The Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre (BYETC) is a Department of Education school operating inside the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre at Wacol.
The staff at BYETC are passionate about improving the knowledge, skills and abilities of our students, many of whom have had disrupted or negative experiences of schooling.
About the Role:
As the Head of Department (Student Services) you will have responsibility for the following:
- Coordinate case management and provide support to students who require targeted or intensive interventions.
- Monitor case managed students' individual data and develop, implement and adjust intervention strategies where necessary.
- Develop and support school-wide systems for high quality teaching and reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities in accordance with related legislation and policies.
- Lead the development of Teacher Aides and provide high quality professional development opportunities.
- Lead a team of Induction and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Coordinators.
- Be futures orientated and strategic.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
