About the role

As a Midwife within the Ngarrama Midwifery Group Practice, you will play a vital role in delivering continuity of care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families throughout their maternity journey. • Uphold Principle 3 of the NMBA Code of Conduct for Midwives — Cultural Practice and Respectful Relationships — centring cultural safety in all interactions with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families, ensuring care is free of bias, racism and assumptions.
  • Apply clinical midwifery expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of woman and baby centred care.
  • Develop in partnership with women individualised care plans for antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal care, which may extend to women's health, sexual and reproductive health, preparation for parenthood, and childcare ensuring care reflects the family's culture, values, and preferences.
  • Maintain woman and baby safety, risk minimisation and safe work activities within the practice setting.
