Are you a strategic and solutions-focused professional with expertise in finance, human resources, facilities management, and administration? We are seeking a Business Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the Principal and ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our school. As the Business Manager, you will provide high-level corporate services and administrative leadership, helping drive business outcomes that support student success and organisational excellence.

This is a Temporary Part-Time position (0.27 FTE) until 15 January 2027, unless otherwise determined.

About the School

Eulo is a small rural and remote town approximately 68km west of Cunnamulla, in south-west Queensland, and is part of the Darling Downs South West Region. Eulo State School opened in 1888 and now, 137 years on, we are extremely proud of our 11 students, who learn in an integrated kindergarten to year 6 classroom. Our school motto, ‘Learning Together', is the cornerstone of all our teaching and learning at Eulo, which is supported by our Age Appropriate Pedagogy framework for planning, teaching and learning. Our students are the central focus for how and what we teach, which allows for all of our students to engage with the curriculum in  meaningful ways.

Your Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the day-to-day administration of the school office, ensuring efficient operations across reception, records management, correspondence, reporting and the effective use of systems such as OneSchool.
  • Supervise and support school support staff, including workforce planning, performance monitoring, recruitment, induction, training, rostering, leave management and coordinating relief arrangements.
  • Assist the Principal with financial management, including budget preparation, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, banking, corporate card monitoring and financial reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate the management of school facilities, resources and assets, including maintenance, repairs, grounds management, asset registers and minor works projects, while engaging external providers and resolving operational issues.
  • Prepare a range of professional documentation including reports, policies, newsletters, meeting minutes and correspondence, while managing competing priorities and adapting to changing operational requirements.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, students, parents, community members and departmental stakeholders, providing expert administrative advice, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and contributing to the continuous improvement of school business operations.
