We are seeking a dedicated Administration Officer to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office.

This is a unique opportunity to provide administrative support, focusing on financial accounts, human resources, and information management for government coordination activities in the Cape York Peninsula Tenure Program.

The Cape York Peninsula Tenure Resolution Program (CYPTRP) is a strategic approach to returning ownership and management of land on Cape York Peninsula to Aboriginal Traditional Owners, while ensuring that outstanding environment values are protected in national parks and nature refuges.

In this role, you will use departmental databases and information systems to manage records, book travel, process payments, and produce reports and statistical information. You will be a vital member of the team, providing accurate and timely information to management and staff on a variety of administrative matters, including work status updates and payment processes.

As the Administration Officer, you will:
Maintain accurate records, produce reports, and generate statistical information.
Oversee office assets, including phones, motor vehicles, and office/field equipment.
Provide timely and accurate information on human resource management, financial management, general administration, and work procedures, such as issuing invoices and tracking payment progress.
Identify areas for improvement and assist in developing and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency, including creating effective work practices and procedures.
Liaise regularly with staff at all levels and external clients as required, fostering strong working relationships.
Promote and support a workplace culture that values and respects the interests of First Nations people, actively contributing to better outcomes for First Nations communities.

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
