The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art seeks a qualified exhibition designer to develop and produce creative exhibition designs for temporary exhibitions, collection displays and children's interactive environments at the Queensland Art Gallery and the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art.
The role will design exhibition environments and visual art displays that meet Gallery standards and objectives, work within project teams and providing support to project leaders and the Senior Exhibition Designer on team-based projects and undertake procurement of materials, product research and administration support for the design team.

The purpose of this role is to develop and produce creative exhibition designs for temporary exhibitions, collection displays and children's interactive environments at the Queensland Art Gallery and the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, through:
- Designing exhibition environments and visual art displays that meet Gallery standards and objectives
- Working within project teams and providing support to project leaders and the Senior Exhibition Designer on team-based projects
- Undertaking procurement of materials, product research and administration support for the design team
QAGOMA's Design Section is comprised of the following teams:
- Workshop
- Exhibition Design
- Graphic Design
- Installation
- Audio Visual and Lighting
This position reports to a Project Lead and to the Senior Exhibition Designer within the Exhibition Design Team and will liaise and communicate regularly with a range of Gallery staff and on occasion with external stakeholders including artists, contractors and representatives from other state, national and international galleries and arts organisations.
The teams in the Design Section work closely and collaboratively to achieve common goals within a very active exhibition program with clearly defined deadlines and an expectation of high-quality outcomes. This section provides the Gallery with substantial in-house production potential, allowing the Gallery to adopt ambitious, complex and innovative projects.
Technical Requirements
- Possession of an appropriate degree or tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Industrial Design or Architecture from a recognised institution, combined with demonstrated industry experience.
- Proficiency in Revit
