Laidley State High School is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Coordinator to support student wellbeing, re-engagement, and successful participation in education.

Working collaboratively with students, families and staff, the successful applicant will help identify and address barriers to learning and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.83FTE), 60 hours per fortnight.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Located in the scenic Lockyer Valley, roughly midway between Ipswich and Toowoomba, Laidley State High School is a welcoming rural campus serving around 700 students with a tight-knit team of over 90 staff.

The school boasts modern, two‑storey facilities—including Trade and Creative Arts precincts with engineering, manual arts, music, and film studios—creating a vibrant environment for educators to spark real-world learning and vocational pathways.

Step Into Your Next Chapter:

• Identify barriers to young people achieving outcomes and referral to appropriate support services.
• Maintain records of student contact on a daily basis.
• Support students to achieve satisfactory learning outcomes.
• Develop and monitor post program support as required to meet program performance criteria.
• Develop and foster relationships between the school and families of students to assist at risk students to remain engaged with education or training.
