About your opportunity:

In this role you will.....

  • Lead and develop, the educational and research strategy for the Cairns and Hinterland pharmacy services in readiness for University Hospital status.
  • Co-ordinate clinical placements and training for JCU pharmacy students across the CHHHS facilities, including the direct management, supervision and assessment of pharmacy students in specified locations to implement quality improvement and practice-based research projects.
  • Design and deliver highly specialised and advanced level interprofessional education programs to medical, nursing and allied health teams working inter-collaboratively within key university undergraduate programs to improve on medication safety practice and clinical care.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively within a team and with patients / clients to ensure develop innovative practices and new models of care and contributing to evidence based practice with a focus on patient centred care determined by greatest need.

This role is offered on a fixed-term basis to February 2027 as part of a conjoint arrangement between CHHHS and James Cook University. There may be the opportunity for extension for an additional 12 months, subject to organisational requirements, funding availability and individual performance. Any extension is not guaranteed and will be determined in line with service needs.
