About the role
In the position of Principal House Officer/Registrar you will be expected to participate in the provision of high-level primary health care services for young persons within Prison and Youth Detention Health Services and to ensure that safe, high quality, patient centred care is provided. In the role of Principal House Officer/Registrar you will be supported and encourage to expand your education and training in primary health care and become an important member of a dynamic and passionate Prison and Youth Detention Health Services team.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality medical care to patients in primary health care.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated committment to own development and continuous self-improvement and identifies learning opportunities in every day work.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
