The Medical Condition Reporting (MCR) Unit is a specialist team of Senior Advisors delivering a vital state-wide service within the Service Centre Operations branch. The unit plays an important role in supporting road safety across Queensland by administering legislated medical fitness-to-drive requirements on behalf of the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR).

Tasks specific to the Senior Advisor position in the MCR Unit may include (but are not limited to)

  • Provide a quality service to customers and resolve specific customer problems in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Provide expert advice and interpretation of legislation to staff and customers on medical condition reporting policy and procedures.
  • Provide accurate information to licence holders while displaying respect and empathy in sensitive situations.
  • Interpret legislation and make informed decisions about Qld licence holder's medical fitness to drive.
  • Make informed decisions about the amendment, suspension, cancellation, and reissue of Qld licences.
  • Issue Show Cause Notices on behalf of the Chief Executive.
