About Your Role

As the Principal Research Partnerships Officer, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening Metro South Health's research ecosystem through the development of strategic partnerships, research initiatives and funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage strategic research partnerships across health, academic and industry sectors
  • Support researchers in identifying and securing funding opportunities
  • Lead partnership negotiations and collaboration arrangements
  • Provide expert advice on research governance, contracts and partnership frameworks
  • Coordinate partnership activities aligned with organisational research priorities
  • Support consumer engagement and participation in research initiatives

You are a strategic and relationship-focused professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys bringing people together to achieve shared goals.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience developing and managing strategic partnerships
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Experience supporting research funding applications and submissions
  • Strong contract, governance or partnership management capability
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Advanced project management and coordination skills

About Metro South Research

Metro South Health is focused on better health experiences, outcomes and system performance, informed and enabled by research and innovation. Metro South Health is dedicated to nurturing all types of research within its facilities and services, spanning biomedical, translational, clinical, health service, and population health studies. Our research programs are well-established in various health specialties, such as cancer, medical, surgical, mental health, rehabilitation, and allied health services. Located in the TRI building, Metro South Health Research has been charged with this responsibility and is the coordinating body for three key areas:

  1. Research administration and compliance
  2. Research development and support
  3. Clinical Research Facility (CRF).
