Are you an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist looking to advance your career in Anatomical Pathology? We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled scientist to join our Anatomical Pathology team at The Prince Charles Hospital. You will be an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist with demonstrated expertise in Anatomical Pathology, particularly in cytology and histology. You will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team environment. In this role, you will perform a broad range of routine and complex histological, immunohistochemical and cytological investigations, contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services that support patient care across Queensland Health.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Anatomical Pathology techniques and its application in a diagnostic laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to provide general Cytological advice to professional and operational supervisors regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities.
- Ability to develop and maintain knowledge and skills in a range of histological applications from routine tissue management through to the application of advanced methods and technologies
- Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification.
- Proven willingness and ability to actively participate in and contribute to continuing education and other professional development activities.
- Proven ability to work and communicate effectively within a team environment to achieve the goals of the work unit including the meeting of critical deadlines.
- Availability to participate in roster system across the operating hours of the department.
