About us:
With branches in Rockhampton, Mackay and Barcaldine and a site office in Emerald, the Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region (CQ Region) looks after 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network. This role will contribute to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).

The Role:
In the role of Surveyor, you will undertake survey projects to ensure services meet all objectives through the phases of engineering project cycles of planning, designing, constructing and managing the road network.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Complete engineering survey projects with Surveyors to ensure timely completion and adherence to scope and quality to meet the project cycle requirements.
• Undertake specialised survey projects with Surveyors in geospatial applications to a diverse range of customers to ensure success, value for money and best practice are adopted.
• Manage and maintain survey equipment, consumables and vehicles.
• Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), TMR surveying standards and governance obligations.

Mandatory & Desirable Qualifications:
• Minimum of a 3-year degree from a tertiary institute in Spatial Science (Surveying) will be highly regarded, or an equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institute that is acceptable for registration as a surveyor/surveying graduate with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ) - Evidence of degree or SBQ acceptance must be supplied in writing by the applicant at the time of the interview.
• A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence.

Requirements of the role:

• Demonstrated understanding to apply knowledge to engineering surveying principals and methodologies in locating, controlling, measuring and auditing road construction projects.
• Complete registration as a Surveyor with the Surveyors Board of Queensland.
