Biloela Hospital is a vital healthcare hub for the Banana region, delivering emergency, maternity, diagnostic, surgical and visiting specialist services close to home. Supported by innovative Telehealth technology, the service is committed to improving access to high-quality care for rural communities.

The Gladstone and Banana Allied Health Clinical Network brings together Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology and Social Work to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care. Alongside generalist services, the team also delivers specialised support in developmental paediatrics and cancer care, with strong clinical leadership, collaboration and professional support across Central Queensland Health.

About the role:

  • Provides senior-level Speech Pathology expertise within the Banana Allied Health Team, delivering high-quality care across Central Queensland Health services.
  • Leads management of a varied and complex caseload across inpatient, outpatient and community settings, supporting patients across the full continuum of care.
  • Delivers outreach services to rural facilities including Moura, Theodore and Baralaba, strengthening access to specialist care in regional communities.
  • Works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, applying advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provides clinical leadership through service development, supervision, education, quality improvement and contribution to research initiatives.

About you:

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology with eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (CP/eligible membership desirable) and commitment to ongoing professional development in line with CQ Health accreditation standards.
  • Strong clinical expertise in delivering generalist Speech Pathology services across the lifespan and continuum of care, including inpatient and outpatient settings with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision, contribute to multidisciplinary team collaboration, and engage in effective communication, negotiation and conflict resolution with senior clinicians and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive service improvement and clinical leadership through quality improvement, policy and service development, research, and safe, effective clinical practice.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
