About us:
The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service delivers specialist care for mental health, alcohol and other drug concerns across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands, and Banana regions - supporting a catchment population of more than 250,000 people. Services are available across each of these communities.
Our team works collaboratively with Adult Mental Health Inpatient and Acute Care Teams, Primary Health services, and a broad network of community and private providers. Together, we focus on reducing the impact of mental illness and supporting individuals on their recovery journey through coordinated, person-centred care.
About the role:
- Provides safe, person-centred nursing care within a Mental Health Inpatient Unit, working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrates strong communication and therapeutic interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and support team-based care delivery.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and review of patient care plans, while monitoring patient progress and reporting changes to the Registered Nurse.
- Manages own workload effectively, ensuring care is delivered within scope of practice and seeking guidance when patient needs exceed capability or complexity.
- Maintains professional competency through evidence-based practice, adherence to clinical standards and policies, and ongoing participation in education and quality improvement activities.
About you:
- You are a registered Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA registration and a current annual practising certificate.
- You bring strong interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build therapeutic relationships with patients and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- You have solid nursing knowledge and clinical skills, enabling you to confidently assess, implement, and evaluate patient care within your scope of practice.
- You are motivated to continuously grow your practice, actively developing your skills along the journey from novice through to advanced capability.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $91,066 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $37.92 - $40.25 p.h.
- An hourly rate between $47.41 - $50.31 p.h. (including 25% casual loading)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
