Bellmere State School is seeking an experienced and passionate educational leader to join our school as Head of Special Education Services. The successful applicant provide strategic leadership for the school’s special education programs, build the capability of teachers through coaching and evidence-based practices, coordinate targeted interventions and case management, and ensure compliance with legislative and departmental requirements. As Head of Special Education Services you will champion inclusive education, foster a culture of high expectations, and drive continuous improvement to achieve positive outcomes for every learner.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead and coordinate inclusive education programs by providing strategic leadership for the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to improve outcomes for students with disability.
  • Build staff capability by delivering high-quality advice, coaching, and support to school leaders and teachers in implementing evidence-based practices, reasonable adjustments, and targeted interventions.
  • Coordinate student support and case management by overseeing intensive interventions, managing support for students requiring extensive or substantial adjustments, and facilitating access to specialist services.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leading school-wide systems, monitoring student progress, managing disability data and reporting requirements, and contributing to whole-school planning and decision-making.
  • Manage partnerships and resources by collaborating with families, government agencies, and community organisations while effectively managing human, financial, curriculum, and physical resources to achieve inclusive education goals.
