About the work unit / facility
The Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (SMHRU) is a specialised inpatient service providing a secure, structured environment for up to 25 consumers requiring intensive mental health rehabilitation. The unit delivers evidence-based, person-centred care to support recovery.
Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide best practice clinical care, promoting independence, enhancing functional outcomes, and supporting consumers to achieve meaningful and sustainable recovery goals.
SMHRU offers a therapeutic environment that prioritises safety, dignity, and respect, empowering consumers to actively engage in their treatment and rehabilitation.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $113,979 to $122,048 p.a. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- On-call and shift allowances (where applicable)

About your opportunity
In this role, you will provide advanced clinical nursing care within the SMHRU, delivering safe, purposeful, and evidence-based interventions that support consumers on their recovery journey. You will utilise your clinical expertise to ensure high-quality patient care, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, therapeutic engagement, and best practice.
You will play a key leadership role in coordinating and supervising the care provided to consumers, guiding both nursing staff and the broader multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent and effective service delivery. Your ability to support, mentor, and educate staff will be central to fostering a collaborative and capable workforce.
