About us:
The Cairns Integrated Palliative Care Service is a collaborative multidisciplinary team delivering specialist palliative care across the Cairns and Hinterland region.
Our focus is on providing high-quality, evidence-based care that improves quality of life for people living with life-limiting illness. We support continuity of care across settings and work closely with patients and carers to honour their preferences, including care in their place of choice.
The service partners with consumer and carer groups, non-government organisations, and government agencies to ensure coordinated, person-centred care. Services include consultative support to Cairns Hospital and residential aged care (SPACE), telehealth via the SPaRTa hub, care at Gordonvale Hospital, and community and outpatient services.
About you opportunity:
In your new role.....
- Utilise high level of knowledge, experience, and clinical skill to provide advanced clinical services to clients with complex needs in the area of specialist palliative care with minimal supervision.
- Provide high level clinical advice to professional and operational leaders within the Palliative Care Service and the Occupational Therapy Department in regard to Palliative Care Occupational Therapy Service delivery.
- Work collaboratively and effectively within the multidisciplinary team of the Palliative Care Service, and with clients to facilitate optimal outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of Occupational Therapy Palliative Care clinical practices, procedures and protocols that support the seamless continuum of care, functional and quality of life improvements in patients with complex Palliative Care needs, inclusive of their families.
