The ECQ is looking for a versatile, multi-skilled and motivated person who is keen to develop or broaden their leadership skills and apply them in the context of education, regulation, investigation, and enforcement of electoral laws. The successful candidate will play a key role assisting with the preparation and conduct of electoral events from within the Funding, Disclosure & Compliance Division.
As a member of the Funding, Disclosure & Compliance Division you are responsible for contributing to the overall success of the ECQ as a modern and professional statutory authority. Drivers for shaping and creating the ECQ of the future include changing demographics, emerging technologies, community expectations for greater convenience, and business improvement opportunities.

Your contribution
Lead and manage staff in the Funding, Disclosure & Compliance Division, establishing and communicating priorities and allocating resources to meet workload demands and deadlines.
Contribute to team cohesiveness, wellbeing and capability through participation in establishing a positive environment, respectful of the views of others across the HR team and broader ECQ workforce.
Promote the ECQ's role as a regulator for the funding and disclosure legislative framework under the Electoral Act 1992 & Local Government Electoral Act 2011, including overseeing stakeholder education initiatives, investigations, compliance reviews, prosecutions, and other enforcement activities.
Conduct quality assurance over business-as-usual, election-specific and compliance functions.
Lead and contribute to business improvement initiatives and innovations across the business, including by drawing on evaluations to build and enhance ECQ's business intelligence and data analysis capabilities.
Provide expert advice and strategic leadership to the Director and Senior Management Team regarding funding and disclosure matters and enforcement of the legislation through clear and highly developed written communication.
Establish positive working relationships with external stakeholders including registered political parties, candidates, elected officials, and other government bodies and councils.
Assist with the development and implementation of relevant policies, protocols and standards to maintain the ECQs professional and modern approach to electoral regulation.
Coordinate the conduct of user acceptance testing on critical election systems with a view to ensuring systems remain fit for purpose and election-ready.
Contribute to the financial management and strategic and operational planning for specific business units and for the Division as a whole.
Manage the conduct of electoral events through effective project and contract management and contribute to ECQ's preparedness in conjunction with all ECQ staff.
Consistently display the ECQ and Queensland Government values, and act in accordance with the Queensland public service legislative framework and Code of Conduct, ensuring that these are upheld at all levels of the organisation.
