We are seeking a passionate and committed instructional leader for the position of Head of Department - Junior Secondary/Spanish. (Locally known as Leader of Learning - Transitions & Pathways (7 & 8)/Spanish.
Lead Spanish and the junior secondary curriculum in this temporary Head of Department opportunity.
Drive excellence in teaching and learning, provide strategic curriculum leadership, and support high-quality language education aligned with departmental priorities.
Working collaboratively with staff, you will foster innovation, strengthen curriculum delivery and improve student outcomes in an inclusive learning environment.

About the Role
The key areas of responsibility for this role are:
Curriculum delivery
- Lead curriculum, teaching and learning of the Spanish faculty to deliver quality learning outcomes for all students
- Track and monitor student academic progress in Junior Secondary (Years 7 & 8)
- Set high standards for student and staff performance
- Form partnerships with students, parents, external providers and the wider college community
Pride Leader for selected students in Doherty House
As a Head of Department, this responsibility involves tracking, monitoring and actioning engagement data (attendance and behaviour) and supporting the wellbeing of students in two Pride Classes through our vertical house structure.
