Working within a collaborative, agile environment, you will provide technical leadership, develop high-quality software applications, mentor team members, and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital services. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise to meaningful work directly supporting clinicians, patients and the broader health service. This is a permanent full time role and whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification in software engineering or similar would be highly desirable.

Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with clinical leads and end users across Metro North Health to deliver the Digital Metro North Strategy 2018-32. The strategy aims to ultimately deliver an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North by 2032. Over the coming years, significant capital works are being undertaken, including hospital construction and refurbishment and the implementation of the ieMR Advanced solution across all Metro North facilities. Achieving the aims of the strategy requires a dedicated team with the knowledge, determination, and skills to deliver quality results.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Data and Applications this role will provide high level technical expertise in the analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation support of software development projects involving Microsoft technologies (.Net, Blazor, SQL Server) in an enterprise production environment to ensure defined service levels are met.
The successful candidate will also provide technical and process leadership and mentorship to junior team members and technical advice to other members of the Data and Application Development team and the broader Digital Metro North team.
- This role is full time with the standard hours of operation being 8:00am – 4:06pm, Monday to Friday.
- Flexible working arrangements such as variable working hours, working from home and flex accrual may be supported.
- Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification in software engineering or similar would be desirable.
Key knowledge and experience
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Development of new applications/ and enhancement of existing applications, predominately with modern Microsoft Technologies (.Net, Blazor, SQL Server).
- Develop, maintain, and provide high level specialist advice on, and support of, the integrated operation of complex enterprise applications to achieve defined service levels.
- Provide comprehensive advice and technical feasibility on specific applications and their integration with business requirements and the technical environment.
- Work collaboratively with business representatives and technical staff in the estimation of development work and understanding of service requirements to ensure service levels remain aligned to changing business requirements and evolving delivery capabilities.
- Create system design specifications and related technical documentation based on user requirements (including database design and software architecture).
- Application development.
- Troubleshooting/Problem solving/Bug Fixing.
