Parliamentary Services is seeking a professional, organised, and community-minded Assistant Electorate Officer to join Jess Pugh MP, Member for Mount Ommaney, based in the Sinnamon Park Electorate Office.
This role is offered as a six-month opportunity, with the possibility of extension, and is full-time, with potential part-time flexibility for the right candidate.
This position supports the Member and Electorate Officer in delivering high-quality services to constituents, engaging with local organisations, and assisting with the daily operations of a busy electorate office.
Key Objectives
- Provide high-quality administrative and support services to the Electorate Office
- Assist constituents and community groups by responding to enquiries and helping resolve concerns
- Support the smooth day-to-day operations of the Member's office
Your Role
- Assist with diary management, coordinating appointments, meetings, and community events
- Provide administrative support including correspondence, research, data entry, and record keeping
- Help prepare briefing materials, community information, and maintain office systems
- Monitor local issues through community engagement, media, and networks
- Assist with travel arrangements and liaise with Parliamentary Travel services
- Respond to enquiries via phone, email, and in person, providing information and support
- Maintain strong relationships with community organisations, agencies, and stakeholders
- Support community engagement activities such as events, newsletters, and correspondence
- Assist with the Member's social media and website under direction
- Provide general office support including filing, supplies management, and documentation
- Support the Electorate Officer and supervise volunteers when required
