Your Opportunity

We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for a Senior Project Coordinator to join the Business Development and Marketing team within Commercial Services at TAFE Queensland SkillsTech, based at the Acacia Ridge campus.

In this role, you will coordinate and support the successful implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of strategic projects and funded programs across SkillsTech and the broader Commercial Services portfolio. You will help ensure contractual requirements, project milestones, funding obligations and organisational objectives are achieved.

You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate program delivery, monitor performance, manage reporting requirements and support effective participant and stakeholder outcomes. This includes working with teams across TAFE Queensland, as well as external government agencies, industry partners and other relevant project partners.

This is a varied role that combines project coordination, contract and funding administration, stakeholder engagement, reporting, analysis and continuous improvement. You will support region-based and statewide priorities by contributing to clear planning, effective governance, accurate reporting and practical recommendations that strengthen program performance and support future growth.

This position reports to the Business Development and Marketing Manager and is primarily based at the Acacia Ridge campus. You may also be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

Model and promote TAFE Queensland values by actively contributing to a positive workplace culture and demonstrating Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Showing Initiative, and Taking Responsibility.

Coordinate the implementation and delivery of region-based and statewide strategic projects and funded programs. 

Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across TAFE Queensland, and external stakeholders including other Queensland Government agencies and other relevant project partners.

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, funding requirements, and all agreed project and program deliverables through actively monitoring project performance against key performance indicators, and project milestones.

Monitor program expenditure, financial performance and delivery outcomes against allocated budget parameters, ensuring the maximisation of contract value for TAFE Queensland.

Identify, assess, and monitor risks and other issues that may impact project delivery, contractual compliance, stakeholder outcomes or organisational objectives; escalating risks as appropriate, and supporting the development and implementation of mitigation strategies to inform timely and effective decision-making.

Contribute to the preparation of clear and accurate reports and briefings aligned with strategic objectives, including analysis to inform governance, management oversight, demonstrate progress against deliverables and support continuous improvement in program performance.

Develop and maintain project and program delivery resources, communication plans, schedules and coordination processes that support effective planning, stakeholder engagement and consistent program delivery.

Support program development and expansion by: 

monitoring program outcomes and identifying opportunities for growth; 

reviewing and redesigning existing program delivery processes;

contributing to business cases or proposals for new or expanded programs; and

making recommendations to inform management decisions.

Proactively participate in local Performance Planning and Development (PPD) processes, seeking opportunities for self-development and contributing to the development of the Commercial Services portfolio.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

1. Demonstrated understanding of contract lifecycle management, including performance monitoring, maximisation of contract value, risk identification and delivery against key performance indicators within a large, complex organisation.

2. Demonstrated ability to deliver organisational objectives through the application of project management methodologies, including establishing clear plans, monitoring progress and achieving measurable outcomes.

3. Highly developed written communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated through the ability to build enduring professional relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and prepare high-quality reports, briefing materials and correspondence to inform meaningful business decisions.

4. Highly developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, including the ability to contribute to the development of innovative and flexible strategies. 

5. Proven ability to work effectively with, and contribute to a high performing team, identifying opportunities for business improvement and proactively seeking and facilitating opportunities for self-development.

Qualification or experience in project management 

Previous background or knowledge of Vocational Education and Training
