Based in Brisbane, this permanent, flexible full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead critical contract management and program development to increase community-owned and managed housing supply.
What you'll do:
In this role, you'll work at the forefront of social and affordable housing delivery, collaborating with community housing providers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Negotiating contracts with community housing providers, managing performance and compliance under funding agreements, and advocating for the State's interests.
- Leading high-level projects to support the capital grant program and ensure quality delivery.
- Conducting complex business analysis and reporting to address emerging issues and respond to project information requests.
- Maintaining data integrity and ensuring accurate, quality data collection for reporting and decision-making.
- Providing expert advice and preparing detailed proposals, project plans, and briefing papers to inform strategy and solve complex problems.
- Offering financial, contractual, and policy advice to support market-based proposals for additional social and affordable housing development.
- Building and sharing professional networks with community housing providers, government bodies, financiers, and not-for-profit organisations to boost collaboration.
- Developing and implementing funding reforms that align with the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017-2027 and meet the needs of diverse communities and client groups.
How you'll contribute:
Your leadership will play a key role in ensuring Queenslanders have access to safe, sustainable, and affordable housing. By fostering partnerships, improving processes, and delivering innovative housing projects, you'll help create a more effective and integrated housing system that improves long-term outcomes for individuals and families in need. Your efforts will directly contribute to the department's mission of providing accessible housing solutions that strengthen communities.
What we're looking for:
We're seeking someone with a deep understanding of the community housing sector and a strong ability to drive results in a dynamic and collaborative environment. To excel in this role, you'll need to:
- Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, effectively manage projects, and meet deadlines in a structured and self-motivated way.
- Build and maintain strong relationships, liaising with internal and external partners to achieve shared goals.
- Bring a high level of expertise in contract negotiation, compliance, and performance management.
- Analyse complex information, manage risks, and make evidence-based decisions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Share your knowledge and expertise to develop team capabilities and foster a culture of learning and improvement.
