About us:

The Education and Research Unit provides Nursing and Midwifery education, professional practice development services and Clinical Practice Improvement initiatives for nursing and midwifery staff, to facilitate the achievement of best practice health service delivery requirements. The Education and Research Unit is led by the Nursing Director of Education and Research.

About the role:

  • The Nurse Educator is a Registered Nurse (RN) who is accountable at an advanced practice level for the design, implementation and assessment of nursing education programs, managing educational resources and providing nursing expertise related to educational issues within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).
  • The Nurse Educator leads and supports a culture of development and enquiry which actively encourages and facilitates clinical, professional and organisational learning.
  • Responsible for the provision of nursing care including complex care that meets the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) Standards for practice and other professional practice standards relevant to the position.
  • Provide education leadership and expertise and act as a clinical resource, mentor role model, and technical expert within the multidisciplinary team environment.

About you:

  • Appointment to this position requires current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification at an AQF level 9 in which clinical education was a large component or a research higher degree is a requirement of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion of the required post-graduate study within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance review process.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply specialised knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory in professional issues including Scope of Clinical Practice of all Nursing and Midwifery roles, Supported Practice Framework and application of requirements of refresher, reskilling and re-entry participants.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $86,683.98 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
