The Principal Communication Officer is a Brisbane based leadership role delivering strategic communication and engagement services across the department. The Business and Corporate Partnership (BCP) division provides strategic advice, leads key programs implementation and delivers corporate services that enable the department to achieve its objectives.

The Principal Communication Officer plays a key leadership role within the Strategic Communications team, providing high level advice and delivering communication strategies that support complex departmental priorities. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Communication, you will work closely with senior leaders and business areas to ensure communication and engagement activities are effective, timely and aligned to organisational objectives.
In this role, you will lead and manage multiple communication programs of work, often with competing priorities. Your day to day work includes developing and implementing strategic communication plans, interpreting complex information and producing high quality communication materials across a range of channels. You will provide leadership and guidance to junior team members, manage workflows and contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture. Building strong relationships across the department is critical, as is your ability to provide clear advice on stakeholder risks, mitigation strategies and the effective use of traditional and digital communication tools.
Success in this role looks like trusted advice to senior stakeholders, well executed communication strategies that achieve measurable outcomes, and a supported team delivering consistently high quality work in a busy environment.
