About us:

Emerald Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Emerald and Central Highlands region. Emerald Hospital supports services at the Capella Primary Health Clinic and the Gemfields Primary Health Clinic. Our vision, outlined in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy1 is for Emerald Hospital to be the Central Highlands hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and some surgical services. We will invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.

About the role:

  • Undertake administrative support tasks and functions for a variety of departments, ensuring effective day to day operations are maintained, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, self-direction and independence in the absence of direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of a large number of specialised PC based systems (HBCIS, S4Hana, EDIS, WINC, RMS, UMS, Patient Flow Manager, Microsoft Office suite).
  • Carry out general clerical duties such as but not limited to answering telephones/switchboard queries in a professional manner, filing, word processing, data entry and maintaining records including medical records, banking and mailing.
  • Maintain and update accurate computer records, admissions, update Medicare card details, discharges, Department of Veteran Affairs and patient health fund information in line with Health Information, Privacy and Confidentiality procedures.

About you:

  • Possession of tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with staff and the public.
  • Ability to plan, meet deadlines and prioritise workloads, whilst working autonomously and to be flexible in a changing work environment.
  • Use initiative to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and to resolve problems.
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $49.97 - $55.57 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
